My role as Head of Equality, Diversity and inclusion is a national role across the whole of NCAS. I oversee the implementation of the current EDI strategy and action plan as well as researching new initiatives and issues that may arise.

 

I chair the NCAS Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee (NEDI) which was set up to guide and advise the management board on NCAS EDI issues.

 

I started working for NCAS in 2004 where I was an atmospheric scientist on the FAAM research aircraft, then moved to University of York as an air quality research scientist where I developed my passion for EDI work. Whilst there I was a member of the chemistry Athena Swan Committee and helped write the applications which has led to York Chemistry being a Gold Award Department for over 10 years. I started my secondment as Head of EDI in September 2020.
