A technically orientated scientist with over 18 years of experience in the development and application of analytical techniques in industry and acedemia. His research interests include urban air quality, climate change, and instrument development. Currently, Nick has technical responsibilty for the Manchester Air Quality Supersite (MAQS), which is one of the UKs most advanced research facilities for collaborative research into ambient air quality in urban environemnts. Other research activities include the development and application of novel mass spectrometry techniques to directly measure the physicochemical properties of aerosol in remote environments using aircraft based platforms.
