I am a Science Delivery Coordinator for the Mid-Life Upgrade Programme at FAAM Airborne Laboratory. I work with user groups and instrument developers to ensure their requirements and plans are understood and fed into the projects. Therefore, I am involved in the majority of the projects regarding the integration of new scientific instrumentation on the Atmospheric Research Aircraft.
The great advantage of this position is the ability to learn more about different types of measurements, instrumentation, and facilities and talk to many people from different backgrounds. So, if you have any questions about my work, please contact me!
I am always happy to learn new things about atmospheric science, especially since my scientific background is quite different from what I do now. As such, I have a PhD in Astronomy and a First-class MPhys in Physics with Astrophysics.
My MPhys project was in theoretical physics and involved analysis of the dice lattice by investigating its band structure at a flux density of ½ quantum per plaquette, which results in particles hopping from one lattice point to another.
My PhD project involved implementing hierarchical triple stars into the stellar population synthesis codes and subsequent simulation of the planned PLATO mission field and its observations to estimate the rate of astrophysical false positives in planetary transit surveys and their analysis.
